Since April, the OneImpact app has been offering the opportunity for users to take a survey on # COVID19, as well as to report on barriers related to COVID-19.

This made it possible for TBpeople Ukraine to analyze how the pandemic affects people with tuberculosis in Ukraine.

"We presented the results at the meeting of the Program Committee of the National Council on Tuberculosis and HIV / AIDS," TBpeople Ukraine mentioned.

Specifically, when asked whether the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the provision of TB treatment services in their community, 76% of respondents said yes. 29% of them noted that the main barriers are the fact that patients are not referred to medical facilities or that medical workers are not available in hospitals.

Also, since March 2020, the number of calls on the barrier associated with payments from their own funds has been growing rapidly.

The main categories that users' requests are classified into are the following: food to support TB treatment, medical services, travel expenses. Thus, the OneImpact has registered the worsening of the difficult financial situation and the lack of conditions for breaking down barriers among the most vulnerable segments of the population suffering from tuberculosis (people in difficult life circumstances, including the unemployed, low-income families with children).
