Moldovan Society Against Tuberculosis - SMIT prepared an essential publication in Romanian "Patient's card: THE RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF A PATIENT WITH TUBERCULOSIS". The publication begins with an important statement "You have the right" to people with tuberculosis and their families. Words that many people forget about, stigmatizing themselves: We share the translation:

"You have the right to free and fair access to health care, starting with diagnosis and during treatment, regardless of your resources, race, sex, age, language, social status, faith, sexual orientation, culture or other infections or diseases.

You have the right to health care and treatment in line with the best standards and recommendations that are centered on the individuals' needs, including preventive treatment for children and other people with increased risk of disease.

You have the right to education, support and prevention programs as part of comprehensive care and support.

You have the right to access health information and to receive a copy of health certificates at your personal request or at the request of a person authorized by you.

You have the right to meet and share experiences with other people affected by tuberculosis and with peers during the treatment."
